Julep has, with August, released a new Mantra that goes along with the ideals it has had as a company since day 1. 'Brave Pretty' was released this month and everyone got two cards with their boxes. One detailing the mantra, and a second for us to write what Brave Pretty means...to US. Due to unanticipated financial obligations last month, I had to skip the best box I'd seen in MONTHS; So, I made up for it this month with some that I had missed, as well as some from this month's collection!! Many said their free gift was Lee, and since I don't remember adding that particular shade on I think that was also my 'Free gift for 3 add-ons'. And in the same light, I think everyone got these neat metallic temporary tattoos as a bonus! So cute. SWATCHES :DBecause we all know that's REALLY why you're here. :) The Pink Titles/Texts are from the August collection! Alyssa Described as a "Beachside Turquoise Creme", it's definitely oceanside ready. Very bright, very beachy and VERY beautiful. Applied magnificently, and could probably have been a 1 coat wonder, but I did two coats just to be sure. I absolutely did NOT want to take this off. Lee Don't let this shot fool you, Lee is RED. Lee is like, classic WW2 sassy-pants nurse RED. Look at the pinky finger and bottom of the bottle, and that sassy red is this polish. Julep refers to it as "Spitfire Red Creme", and it nailed it, no pun intended. If I didn't want to take Alyssa off, this red was nearly superglued to my fingers. Even dreamier to apply, and a glory to wear! Ann Described by Julep as a "Passion Punch Ghost Shimmer Creme", I wouldn't know another way to describe this colour. From a distance, it looks like a solid creme. But in the light, there's the ghost of a sparkle framing the light. You can see it best on the bottle, where the sparkles are bouncing back the most. Creamy application, but a lot thinner than I expected it to be. Took a few coats on its own to be opaque, but was pretty once it was done. Lainey "Summer berry Shimmer" is a great description for this polish; However, it's MUCH more smooth and chrome-metallic than it is "shimmer". I picked this one because my fiance loves when I wear neon violets of this family, and this one HE didn't want me to take off!! Pretty pretty colour. If you have Magdalene [pictured below], Lainey is VERY similar in finish. Magdalene Described as a "Deep, water-hued shimmer", Magdalene is everything I have ever wanted in a blue, and more. Smooth, glassy finish I could almost use as a MIRROR, and a deep shifty blue as gorgeous as the Caribbean waters. I was almost ready to throw away every other blue polish I have, for DARING to call itself blue when this is in existence!! Mari This "Peony Linear Liquid Holographic" is appropriately named. A berry pink with a subtle, fiery glow of holo to it. I unfocused the nails here to try and show you how fiery it really is; But of course, it was a butt to catch. ONE. COATER. ALERT. Super smooth to apply, one coater, beautiful! Ginger Julep's old "Golden Sand" holographic was updated to glow even more, and boy does it! I don't have the old version, to compare, but I'm loving this one. Just the right amount of gold, and holo. I've really begun to prefer Julep's subtle approach to holo as opposed to the more flamboyant Indie holos, and Ginger seems to be leading the pack as favourite. Penny Described on Julep as "Burnished Bronze Metallic", the description in this case is more accurate than the picture. Not quite as smooth a finish as Lainey and Magdalene, and not as gold as the picture shows. Mostly gold, but leans VERY bronze. Much more dark brown in here than gold, and it's beautifully sparkly. Lots of glitter though, and microglitter at that, so it did stick around the edges after removal. Corrine "Sandcastle Stardust" is right! This looks like a falling star landed RIGHT smack into a Sandcastle. And this glittery, sandy beauty was all that was left. Not as sandy as a truly sand polish, not quite as glittery either as some of the other stardusts, but a magical glittery sand right in the middle. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this after seeing other swatches, but turns out I love it! :D
