That's right, it's my birthday! WOOOHOOOO! What else could a birthday bitch wear, but Vapid Lacquer's very own LE, 'Birthday Bitch'? With an accent of Sea Glass, and a Julep star decal, I'm SO ready to take on the birthday festivities!!! :D

Oh my GOD am I excited or am I EXCITED?! I'm going to try not to spoil any of the contents for me this time, since someone spoiled the Neverland box for me and I was super bummed. #NoInstagramForMe
The Fall soap box ships SOOOON. If you haven't signed up for it yet, you still have time!!! Click the image above or HERE and then at the top click "The Soap Box" to sign up for your box while you can! :D My birthday is in August, and my fiance and I are going to do a "Wine & Canvas" thing as a celebration! It's where you join a group, and all eat/drink/be merry and paint the target painting! Then, you all get together and take a picture with your paintings. So this is my take on an impressionist watercolour. I used a white base polish, then Julep's Moni and Princess Grace with some polish remover to break apart the pigment some, and used an old paintbrush to apply in scatters across the nail. Finished off with a nice Matte Coat! :D
We all Ibotta differently. Some of us Ibotta when we remember to or are reminded, and some of us Ibotta when we've run out of things TO Ibotta!! I'm the latter, and my FAVOURITE way to get my Ibotta on is: ...On a living room 'bed' of pillows, with my favourite notebook and my cell phone with my Ibotta app! Sometimes I'll have store sales pages with me too, and of course my cats like to "help" me with my pen use. I like to make a list of supplies we NEED, then come up with dinners and snack options based on what's available on the app! And, if any of the rebates catch my eye as things I MIGHT like to try, I make a huge list of what it is, what qualifies for it, and how much it is. Then leave a space for the item's price at the store. That way if I can't get it now, if the rebate is still around next trip or it comes back later, I know how much I will save! Sometimes, I get double lucky with my diligence. This week it was on Freschetta frozen pizza! There was a rebate for a Freschetta pizza for $1.50; AND a separate "Any Brand" rebate for $.20! And yes, they worked on the Freschetta! You might think it's limiting on what we can or can't eat, but it actually ends up presenting the opposite. We try foods and snacks we hadn't tried before, and sometimes they become the new favourite! Here's what I earned! So, how do YOU Ibotta? Tweet me pics of how YOU Ibotta at @Cherry_Gryffon! If you're not already, sign up for Ibotta by clicking the image below!
Happy almost-4th of July everyone!!!! My fiance and I are going to celebrate with some parade and firework action, and my planned outfit is blue and white stripes. So, of course I had to match my nails! But you know. With a little pizzazz. Meet Angie and Danielle. Angie is a silver holographic, and Danielle is a blue/purple shifting duochrome. I absolutely love these two, and I think I fell in love all over again after this. I'm considering adding opposing dots in the center by the cuticles, but I want to sit on it for a bit. I feel like these are so perfect just as simple alternating colours. What do you guys think?? If you'd like to pick either of these up for yourself, I highly recommend it. They're gorgeous! And go with basically anything. This post does contain my own affiliate links. I greatly appreciate their use, but if it makes you uncomfortable please feel free to get in touch with me! I would be MORE than happy to accommodate you <3

If you are uncomfortable with these, you can always get ahold of me and let me know! I'd be more than happy to accommodate you!! June 26th 2015 Mark that date in the history books y'all! Because this is happening and it's REAL LIFE. I may be lucky enough to be marrying a man, but I very easily could have been lined up to marry a woman. I am excited beyond belief that I can now raise my children in a country, and a time, where they can have the same joys and sorrows of marriage that I can, no matter what gender they or their loved one may be. Today is bittersweet for me though. In October of 2006 I lost my best friend to suicide, because he lost all hope in a brighter future. He couldn't see an end to the hatred, the violence, the hiding, and the struggle that his life was. A week before his sweet 16, he ended his struggle. Every day since the day I met him, I stood up for him and myself and everyone in this world who have fought for the right to love without fear. To love without end. To simply be treated as the humans we are. Today, that paid off. My struggle, my fight, YOUR fight, paid off. We did it! So today, and this bright and fun and SPARKLY mani, are dedicated to those I have lost to the struggle that has been the fight for marriage equality; And those I have lost too soon that fought alongside me all these years, waiting for this moment. If you have a moment, please scroll to the bottom of this post and take a moment with me to send a nod to these forever young and beautiful people. You should be able to right click and view these images to see larger versions of them. :) First I used two coats of Vanna, a pale pinkish white, to make the colours stand out more. Then, I painted ribbons of colour on the accent nail; One stripe for each colour. Once dry, I put a gloss topcoat on the accent nail, and was done with it. For the other four nails, I used an old [clean] cheap eyeshadow sponge applicator and dipped it in nail polish remover briefly before each colour. Not only did it clean the sponge for the next colour but it made the colours blend like watercolour. I sponged on each colour one at a time on the four main nails, in a burst pattern. I was inspired by THIS picture that was used in a nail polish group I participate in. Once dry, I put a matte topcoat on the main four nails, and let it dry. Finally, I used Margot to hand paint the letters 'L O V E' on the four main nails. Then, I put gloss topcoat on top and let it dry. Polishes used I'd like to send a big thanks and shoutout to Julep for making such amazing colours, as all polishes used in this mani are from Julep. Below, you can find images of the polishes used; and my affiliate links to get these colours for yourself if you would like any of them, and if they are available for purchase! Dedicated to the memory of...
Jesse Higginbotham Mar. 10th 1990 - Apr. 19th 2007 For more information on Joshie, Hannah, or Jesse, please visit the following links. All three were friends with one another, and all three were friends of mine. All three were, and in their names continue to be, making changes in the lives of people everywhere. They are special, as are we all, and my greatest wish is that they are smiling right now. Because #LoveWon.
http://www.jessehigginbotham.com/ http://groundspark.org/3500 https://www.facebook.com/groups/dunbargarden/ WARNING!PERIOD TALK BELOW, IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE READING THE DETAILS OF TAMPONS, MENSTRUAL FLOW, OR ANYTHING RELATED PLEASE SKIP THIS POST. <3 If you haven't heard of #SavetheUndies yet, it's a campaign by Kotex to gather women everywhere to keep our undies from getting ruined by poor Lady products, and increasing our ability to stay active in our lives, and not be hampered by that week every month that rivals the real "Hell Week" for some of us. Get your own Mission Box by clicking here! I chose the Full Size Tampons option, which included:
I'm opening talks about the box now, since I've tried two of the 5 available products to test! I've tested the Super Security Tampon, and one of the Barely There liners. Security Tampon [Size: Super] Okay, I've got good things from my #SavetheUndies box, and I've got bad. Since this is a review, we'll start with the bad. In this unfortunate case, it's the Security Tampons. Normally, I use Tampax pearl in Super. They're sleek, they're easy to hold, they're nearly invincible when it comes to leaks, and I've just never ever had any issues. They may not be perfect, but they're pretty darn good. But, they do still leak. And this is supposed to save our undies, right? First, the super Security Tampon from Kotex is HUGE. And by huge I mean... Dry erase marker huge. I have never had a tampon so HUGE before even using it! No issues with using it, but my god. Did not anticipate the size. But, for the size, and the name, I expected it to last at LEAST 8 hours. With Tampax Pearl I can use them perfectly fine but with the heavier flow I tend to have, I'm changing every hour sometimes. And it's just not polite conversation to be out and about, and have to say "Sorry, bathroom" every hour. They'll begin to question your sanity, especially if you're not drinking anything. The size and the lasting power did not correlate, sadly. And not because it COULDN'T hold that much liquid, but because it wouldn't stay IN for long. First time in my life I've had a tampon try to take itself out. Second, the Security Tampon's removal string is just that. A piece of fairly flimsy string, tied in a tiny sewing knot, wrapped around a wad of cotton that is to be the tampon. When I went to remove the escaping tampon, I tugged as I normally do, And immediately felt the cotton wad tearing. TEARING. Just two days ago I read a story of a woman that LOST a piece of her tampon INSIDE OF HER after it broke apart. I thought surely she was crazy. Nope, it happened. I slowed the tug to a crawl, and eased it out gently, and sure enough the flimsy string was cutting the wad of cotton in half, like a sheep shorn for a sweater. After that, I'm afraid the Security tampons are a big load of nope for me. IN ALL:
Barely There Panty Liners Now the better half of the review. The 'Barely There' panty liners are definitely BARELY there. Good! And Bad. I used mine in conjunction with the Security Tampon, and they did a good job of protecting my undies during the whole "security" breach fiasco. However, the protective film paled in comparison to the next leading brand's extra thin liner, which somewhat disappointed me. These are comfortable, flexible, and stick VERY well to the undies, making for great friends if you're an active woman! However, the protection area is minimal because of the strange oval shape, and unless you're SUPER experienced at where your undies need the most protection, it's going to be a guessing game as to where to put these, to make sure your leak spots line up with the protected area. IN ALL:
And, that's it for now! As soon as I get the chance to test the other products in this #SavetheUndies mission box, I'll let you all know! For today though, I'll be avoiding the Security Tampons and considering the Barely There panty liners! HAVE YOU TRIED THESE PRODUCTS? Leave a comment below, and tell me your experience! Is it the same? Different? I would love to hear, either way! I received these products free from U By Kotex to sample, but not necessarily to review. My opinions are my own, and in no way reflect that of Kotex, or any of it's affiliated institutions.

One of my key apps for grocery shopping, ESPECIALLY in the summer months when kids are hot and hands are grabby, is Ibotta.
